The Duke of York is named after Prince Frederick, Duke of York and Albany (1763 – 1827) .  The Victorian pub was demolished in 2012 in order to enable improvements to Victoria Underground Station, before being rebuilt and reopening in December 2019.  The pub proudly serves the range beers brewed by Samuel Smiths at the Old Brewery in Tadcaster, Yorkshire.  It also serves excellent pub food seven days a week in the upstairs bar.

As with most Samuel Smiths pubs we have an open fire in our upstairs library room.
